Internet browsing facilities are available in the hospital. Please ask the nurse or administrator for the same. Current local charges apply for the same.
Letters and greeting cards will be delivered to your room. Please ask the nurse about posting your letters.
Ministers of most denominations can be contacted through your nurse.
Diets and meals:
If you require any special dietary needs please let us know upon admission. We have a range of specialist menus to suit any dietary requirement. Diani Beach Hospital kitchen conforms to the highest hygienic standards. Your diet is prepared to suit your taste. The nursing department will provide you daily with breakfast, lunch and dinner menus for you to choose from. Meal timings are as follows:
Morning tea from 6:00 AM.
Breakfast from 8:15 AM.
Morning coffee/tea and snacks from 10:45 AM.
Lunch from 12:45 PM.
Afternoon coffee/tea with snacks from 3:45 PM.
Dinner from 6:45 PM.
Please note that for patients admitted after 7 PM dinner will be catered to from outside at no additional expense.
The chef will be pleased to provide room service for snacks and beverages. Ask for the snack menu from the nursing department.
For your entertainment we have a wide range of channels via satellite television. Should you wish to watch a movie please ask the nursing department to give you the catalogue for DVDs. Currently we have only English movies. Please note that we do not entertain DVDs from outside the hospital's library.
Soft drinks and mineral water:
Soft drinks and Mineral water can be purchased from the hospital pharmacy.
Newspapers and magazines:
Newspapers and magazines can be ordered through the reception or nurse station. These will be delivered to your room and will be charged to your account.
The hospital can arrange for photocopying and faxing of documents at a nominal charge.
You can ask for any local or international number through the operator. Dial "0" from your room phone and you will be connected to the operator. Please ask the operator for current rates.
Members of staff have personalized identification tags to allow access into the hospital. For reasons of security please ask your visitor to report to the reception and nursing station before entering your room.
We strongly advise that patients and relatives/visitors refrain from smoking within the hospital premises.
Patients and visitors must switch off their mobile phones at all times as these may interfere with sensitive medical equipment functioning.
The hospital staff is professionally committed to making your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Our employees are pleased to be at your service at all times. If you feel like tipping them do please make use of the staff tip box kept for this purpose in the nurse station and at the hospital reception. Apart from those directly involved in caring for you there are several staff members who do not interact with patients but ensure that the patient is kept as comfortable as possible. The tips that are accumulated will be distributed equally amongst all of them.
All our data and medical records are kept carefully in total confidentiality. We ensure the privacy of each and every individual and all our employees are instructed to respect patient confidentiality.
Hair dresser and beautician:
The hospital can make arrangements for a hair dresser/beautician. Should you need these services please contact the nurse station and they will be more than happy to make the necessary arrangements.
The hospital has ample secured parking space available for either your vehicle or your relative's vehicle.
The housekeeping staff will clean your room daily and supply you with fresh linen and clothes. Personal clothes can be washed and pressed at nominal charges.
